Loving the benefits of village living!

Anne Moyle has lived at Jenny Macleod Retirement Village for 7 years and doesn’t plan on moving anytime soon. She thoroughly enjoys village life!

Having lived in the Wallsend and Jesmond area since the 1960’s, Anne knew she wanted to stay close by when she became unwell. No longer wanting the maintenance of her home especially on her own and having to look after the gardens and lawns, it was an easy decision to move into the village to be close to her friends.

Anne regularly catches up with friends inviting them over for a chat and coffee on her back veranda that overlooks a beautiful area. She enjoys cooking, exercising and crafts and continues doing these hobbies at the village.

Residents live independently and organise their own activities in the community hall – singing, music, wine tasting, rummy cup, exercises classes, crafts, happy hour and more. There is a village bus for outings and shopping within the broader community. For those that enjoy holidays, village living makes it easy to ‘lock and leave’ the home with the confidence and assurance of knowing it will be looked after.

Anne said, “A friend recently came back from a trip to Geneva and I took her over a tray of food when she got back. We keep an eye out for each other. I feel safe and protected living at Jenny Macleod Retirement Village. It’s central and close to shops and the John Hunter Hospital. I wouldn’t want to life anywhere else. My families happy I am not alone and that I feel safe here.”

Jenny Macleod Retirement Village has a range of units, cottages and serviced apartments available.
